IMPROV 201: Characters and Relationships

In IMPROV 201 you will learn to create solid characters (voice, attitude, object work, and physicality) and developing meaningful relationships in every scene you perform. How you do what you do, is who you are. Making big choices and fully committing will take your character work to the next level.

FREE Show Admission while enrolled. Class runs for 2.5 hours each week with optional office hours after class as available.

Prerequisite: Improv 101, or special permission from the DSI Comedy School

Instructor: Emily Holland

Instructor Bio:

Emily has been performing, coaching & producing comedy for over 10 years. She currently performs with Versus, Improv Slam, The Thrill & The Touring Company at DSI.

Emily has improvised comedy around the globe, from Boston to Los Angeles to Japan. She has studied with iOWest, Upright Citizens Brigade, ImprovBoston, Joe Bill (Annoyance), Jill Bernard (HUGE Theater), Zach Ward (DSI), Mike Descoteaux (Second City, ImprovBoston) and Matt Besser (UCB).

She has been a producer for the Boston Comedy Arts Festival, LA Scripted Comedy Festival, Funny Women Festival, LA Improv Comedy Festival, NC Comedy Arts Festival and co-created the College Comedy Festival at ImprovBoston.
